Question
A 20ft shipping container is transported on a flatbed truck with a Hiab crane arm or by a tilt truck. The Hiab can lift up to 8 tonnes from the side of the truck. Long-distance transport uses standard articulated lorries. At sea, containers stack on dedicated container ships.
Did you know?
The hardest part of moving a 20ft container is often not lifting it but positioning it accurately. Experienced operators can place containers with only a few centimetres of clearance. Related questions
