Question
An open top container is a standard shipping container with a removable roof instead of a fixed steel top. The roof is a tarpaulin or hard top that lifts off for crane loading. Side walls, doors, and floor are the same as a standard container. The base is the same length and width as a standard 20ft or 40ft.
Did you know?
The removable roof was designed to solve loading problems, not storage problems. It allows cranes to lower cargo directly into the container from above when side or door access is impossible.
